2014 NFL Mock Draft
1. Houston Texans- Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo, 6-3, 248,
4.6 = This could easily be Clowney, but the Texans have a long history of going
the unexpected route. Mack would fit really well as a pass rushing OLB, who can
also cover in their new 3-4 defense.
2. St. Louis Rams (FWash)- Jadevon Clowney, DE, SCar,
6-5, 274, 4.5 = The Rams really need a tackle, but a specimen like Clowney is
impossible to pass on. Though he’s the most talented player to come out in a
while, there is talk that he’s lazy which can hurt players on draft day.
3. Jacksonville Jags- Blake Bortles, QB, UCF, 6-3, 230,
4.7 = The Jags need a young hard throwing QB, who can eventually take the
reigns, and Bortles fits the bill.
4. Cleveland Browns- Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M,
6-0, 210, 4.45 = Could easily see another QB here, but nobody is more unique
and polarizing that Manziel. He is pure hit or miss, but if he does hit, he
could be the franchise Quarterback Browns fans have dreamed of for so many
year. Making him impossible to pass on.
5. Oakland Raiders- Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville,
6-2, 205, 4.67 = The Raiders need a QB, and Bridgewater’s slight slip may be just
what they need to finally turn things around.
6. Atlanta Falcons- Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn, 6-5, 320,
4.9 = Robinson is one of the most unique prospects to come out of College in a
long time. A mixture of enormous size, strength, and speed for his size make him
impossible to pass on. Especially with their problems running the ball last
year.
7. Tampa Bay Bucs- Jake Mathews, OT, Texas A&M, 6-5,
305, 5.0 = The son of Bruce Mathews is the perfect start to rebuilding the
worst Offense in the NFL. He will probably start off inside at Guard, before
eventually moving out to taking over the Left Tackle position.
8. Minnesota Vikings- Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan
State, 5-11, 197, 4.5 = Dennard is a blanket downfield, which is exactly what
the Vikings need to take over the other side of Xavier Rhodes.
9. Buffalo Bills- Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson, 6-1, 205,
4.47 = While the trade for Williams, might nix the need. Watkins the play maker
is just too good to pass on.
10. Detroit Lions- Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State,
6-0, 200, 4.5 = The Lions expected a lot more out of their secondary last year
and just didn’t come close. With their top choice Dennard already gone, Gilbert
is a great backup choice.
11. Tennessee Titans- Dee Ford, DE, Auburn, 6-2, 243, 4.6
= Its been a long time since the Titans had any kind’ve of edge pass rush. Ford
is a great chance to get that.
12. NYGiants- Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina, 6-4, 245,
4.6 = The Giants offense has become stagnant with no playmaker at tight end.
Many think Ebron is the best of both worlds, a great blocker and receiver.
13. St.Louis Rams- Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan, 6-7, 315,
5.0 = Having taken the best available player Clowney earlier, Lewan is a top
tier OT that fills a big need.
14. Chicago Bears- HaSean Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama, 6-1,
208, 4.5 = The Bears are mediocre at best at safety and could really use some
quality new blood to get the defense back to the old days.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers- Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville,
6-2, 208, 4.57 = This is a nice longer solution for aging free agent Ryan Clark
at free safety.
16. Dallas Cowboys- Aaron Donald, DT, 6-1, 288, 4.9 = It’s
a position of need, and the Cowboys will be getting a blue collar hard working
guy who does more before 10 am than most people do all day. Who also has as many awards in college as a defensive lineman can have.
17. Baltimore Ravens- Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M, 6-5,
225, 4.5 = The Ravens badly need a big possession receiver that can allow them
to stretch the field, and this guy has the speed to go deep as well. The one guy Johnny football will probably miss the most from leaving college.
18. NY Jets- Marquise Lee, WR, USC, 6-0, 195, 4.49 =
Could see others here, but Lee has proven in the past that he will go deep,
over the middle, and anywhere else it takes to make the catch. Something the
Jets really need.
19. Miami Dolphins- Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama, 6-6,
310, 5.1 = The Dolphins gave up 58 sacks last year, and this is a start to
replacing the gaping holes in the line.
20. Arizona Cardinals- Kony Ealey, DE/OLB, Missouri, 6-5,
275, 4.7 = The Cardinals have yet to get any kind’ve of pass rush. They hoped
Okafor would take over last season, but an early injury might make him a back
up to Ealey.
21. Green Bay Packers- Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech, 6-6,
255, 4.6 = One of the things that really had the Packers offense going was
JerMichael Finley spreading the field at TE. His last major injury has many
hoping he will put up his cleats rather than come back and being crippled.
Amaro can spread the field, catches like a wideout, and can actually block.
22. Philadelphia Eagles- Ed Reynolds, S, Stanford, 6-2,
206, 4.5 = The Eagles have a long history of great defenses who’s tones were
set by the safety position. Now they have mediocre players there, and free
agents.
23. KC Chiefs- Kelvin Benjamin, WR, FSU, 6-6, 235, 4.5 =
The Chiefs desperately need a big quality wide out, and if nobody earlier
figures out how good Benjamin can be like I believe then the Chiefs could luck
out here. Benjamin has the size of a TE, the side of a Wideout, and the
wingspan of a goalie net.
24. Cinn Bengals- Jason Verrett, CB, TCU, 5-10, 176, 4.4
= They are old at this position, except for Hall who’s coming off a brutal
Achilles injury.
25. San Diego Chargers- Louis Nix, NG, Notre Dame, 6-2,
345, 5.1 = A big Raji like player to fill a big hole that Chargers have. If he
can keep his weight under control, he could be a pro bowler for years to come.
26. Cleve Browns(From Indy)- CJ Mosley, ILB, Alabama,
6-2, 232, 4.6 = With Jackson gone, the Browns 3-4 has a big hole, and why not
the best inside linebacker who comes from a team that knows how to win.
27. New Orleans Saints- Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA, 6-4,
248, 4.48 = Injuries have hurt the Saints lately at this position, and Barr a
top 5 talent would be impossible to pass on at this time in the draft.
28. Carolina Panthers- Odell Beckham, WR, LSU, 5-11, 193,
4.47 = At some point if the Panthers don’t get someone for Newton to throw to
other than himself, its on you as a Franchise.
29. New England Pats- Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State,
6-3, 210, 4.5 = The Pats need some youth at WR, and this is exactly what they
will get from Robinson. Who reminds some of Anquan Boldin, and could be the
number one option by the end of the year.
30. San Francisco 49ers- Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech,
6-0, 194, 4.4 = With the loss of Tarrell Brown, and the lack of depth, this is
a good pick for the 49ers here.
31. Denver Broncos- Jordan Mathews, WR, Vanderbilt, 6-3,
209, 4.5 = With Decker gone The Broncos, need some more people for Manning to
throw to. Mathews would be a bigger name if he had played for some of the more
heralded schools.
32. Seattle Seahawks- Zach Martin, OT, Notre Dame, 6-4,
305, 5.2 = The Superbowl champs gave up 44 sacks last year, and need to add depth
to the line. Martin is a guy who can play tackle and guard.
2nd Round
33. Houston Texans- Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State, 6-2,
215, 4.7
34. Washington Redskins- Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State,
5-11, 192, 4.335. Cleveland Browns- Ka’Deem Carey, RB, Arizona, 5-10, 207, 4.5
36. Oakland Raiders- Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State, 6-3, 265, 4.6
37. Atlanta Falcons- Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State, 6-2, 300, 4.9
38. Tampa Bay Bucs- Austin Sefferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington, 6-6, 276, 4.7
39. Jacksonville Jags- Trent Murphy, DE, Stanford, 6-6, 252, 4.8
40. Minnesota Vikings- Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, E. Illinois, 6-2, 219, 4.7
41. Buffalo Bills- Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia, 6-6, 325, 5.2
42. Tennessee Titans- Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU, 6-5, 235, 5.0
43. NY Giants- Xavier Su’A-Filo, OG, UCLA, 6-3, 305, 5.1
44. St. Louis Rams- Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee, 6-6, 327, 5.1
45. Detroit Lions- Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU, 6-0, 195, 4.4
46. Pittsburgh Steelers- Stephon Tuitt, DT/3-4DE, Notre Dame, 6-6, 312, 4.9
47. Baltimore Ravens- Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame, 6-6, 270, 4.8
48. Dallas Cowboys- Jackson Jeffcoat, DE, Texas, 6-4, 250, 4.7
49. NYJets- LaMarcus Joyner, CB/S, FSU, 5-9, 190, 4.5
50. Miami Dolphins- Carlos Hyde, HB, Ohio State, 6-0, 235, 4.5
51. Chicago Bears- Ra’Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota, 6-6, 320, 4.7
52. Arizona Cardinals- AJ McCarron, QB, Alabama, 6-3, 214, 5.1
53. GB Packers- Jimmy Ward, S, N. Illinois, 5-11, 191, 4.5
54. Phil Eagles- Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss, 6-2, 226, 4.4
55. SF 49ers- Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas, 6-3, 310, 5.2
56. Cinn Bengals- Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU, 6-3, 244, 4.6
57. San Diego Chargers- JaWuan James, OT, Tennessee, 6-6, 315, 5.1
58. NO Saints- Dakota Dozier, 6-3, 315, 5.2
59. Indianapolis Colts- DaVante Adams, WR, Fresno State, 6-2, 216, 4.5
60. Carolina Panthers- Louchiez Purifoy, CB, Florida, 6-0, 190, 4.4
61. San Francisco 49ers- Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida, 6-0, 195, 4.5

63. Seattle Seahawks- Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska, 6-3, 215, 4.5
