BIG GAME PREDICTIONS

THURSDAY

Texas Longhorns (1-2) at Iowa State Cyclones (2-1) = I know..I know. Nobody is ranked so why should anyone outside of their fans care about this game? 1. It's on Thursday night, seriously what else are you gonna watch when you can watch football. 2. Iowa State as of late has had the Longhorns number. Even when they don't upset them it's been very close as of late. 3.Texas also has a QB controversy brewing with a True Freshman who almost beat USC (even though he kind of played mediocre) vs. a Soph. who last year was the first true freshman to start at UT since Bobby Layne. 4. This is a chance for new Coach Tom Herman to reassure his fans that they are making progress. This should be a good one and it will be decided in the trenches. UT has lost their All-American LT for the season, so who knows who will win this. - Texas 20 Iowa St. 10

FRIDAY

#12 Miami Hurricanes (2-0) at #28 Duke Blue Devils (4-0) (Friday) = This could be a lot better game than most thought at the beginning of the season. Duke is playing very well as of late, and Miami is still suffering from the hangover of Hurricane Harvey. But still i'm calling for the Hurricanes in a close one- Miami 31 Duke 17

#4 USC Trojans (4-0) at #17 Washington State Cougars (4-0) (Friday) = This a true Gunslinger battle with USC's Sam Darnold (306.3 ypg) leading his highly ranked Trojans into Pullman, Wa to face Luke Falk (344.5ypg) and his Cougars. Should be plenty of scoring here even though the Trojans have the better defense. - WSU38 USC 35

SATURDAY

#3 Clemson Tigers (4-0) at #13 Virginia Tech Hokies (4-0) = This should be a big defensive battle with a lot of hard hitting, and the winner being the one who can seize a big play when opportunity presents it self. Not many are giving Tech a chance in this one but i think with the home advantage and the Hokies Josh Jackson (282ypg, with a 11-1 td-int ratio) playing so well this could be a major upset. - Clemson 34 VT 31

#9 Georgia Bulldogs (4-0) at #24 Tennessee Volunteers (3-1) = The Vols currently lead this rivalry 23-21-2, but look for the Bulldogs to get one game closer. This should be a close one mainly due to how much each side doesn't like each other. Georgia is playing well. While Tennessee has the habit of playing down to their opponent. Luckily for them this time their opponent is higher ranked, so they should actually play all 4 quarters in this one. - Georgia 27 Tenn 3

#14 Auburn Tigers (3-1) at #25 Mississippi State Bulldogs (3-1) = Both are up and down teams. With State coming off a big down to Georgia last week. I look for the Bulldogs to bounce back. The real question is can Auburn muster enough offense to win, or will they have to go all defensive? Jordan-Hare is a tough place to play so that should be the difference. - Auburn 30 MSU 20

#18 Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-1) at #27 Texas Tech Red Raiders (3-0) = Tech is coming off a road upset of Houston, while the Cowboys are coming off being upset at home by TCU. This could be another high scoring Big 12 game. This will be one of those games that can decide for once if TT is finally back to its old high flying ways, or will they crumble to a powerful team. The Cowboys should be practicing angrily all week after the beating they took. - OSU 59 TT 49

Vanderbilt Commodores (3-1) at #20 Florida Gators (2-1) = Vandy looked like they might be ready for another miracle season. That was till they ran into the truck that is the Crimson Tide last week. Florida has continued to struggle on offense with the musical chairs at QB. The only thing i'm sure of is that the Gators defense will show up. Florida 20 Vandy 10

California Golden Bears (3-1) at Oregon Ducks (3-1) = Could be a real high flying, barn burner here. But playing at Oregon when the crowd shows up is a rough place to play. But still i'm calling for the upset. - Cal 37 Oregon 31

South Carolina Gamecocks (3-1) at Texas A&M Aggies (3-1) = The Gamecocks have been impressively ahead of schedule in their turn around, while the Aggies seem to be heading the other way barely squeezing by lesser teams and letting the real ones hang around too long. The best bonus for the Aggies will be their 12th man's loudness. - A&M 28 SC 27

Ole Miss Rebels (2-1) at #1 Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0) = just a short while ago Ole Miss had been the kryptonite to a Crimson Tide perfect season. Now with the Rebels in turnmoil from the offseason firing of their coach along with probable coming NCAA sanctions who knows which team will show up to face their rival. But there are plenty of players still on the team who remember beating the Tide, and almost beating them the other times. So this should be alot better than most think it will be. But they are still facing a team many think could beat some NFL teams. - Alabama 48 Ole Miss 7
