BIG GAMES THE WEEK AND PREDICTIONS

#8 Arizona Wildcats (10-2) vs. #4 Oregon Ducks (11-1) at Santa Clara, California Pac12 Championship = Everybody knows that playing a team the second time is always harder. Especially when the previous game involved an upset in other people’s minds. So I’m expecting for Oregon to probably run away with this one. = Oregon 45 Arizona 31

#2 Alabama Crimson Tide (11-1) vs. #13 Missouri Tigers (10-2) at Atlanta, Georgia Dome, SEC Championship = Nobody is taking Missouri in this game, and everyone is expecting Bama to be in full rolling mode as they get ready to play in the tournament. But im expecting a good game at least for the first half. = Alabama 34 Missouri 24

#1 Florida State Seminoles (12-0) vs. #11 Georgia Tech Yellowjackets (10-2) at Charlotte, NC, ACC Championship = What most people don’t know about playing Georgia Tech is that they can beat anyone on a certain day. The old wishbone offense is rough on defenses. Defensive linemen hate it getting cut blocked on every play. But still the Seminoles have found crazier ways to pull off a win in their 28 game win streak. = Florida State 29 GT 28

#6 Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1) vs. #14 Wisconsin Badgers (10-2) at Indianapolis, Indiana, Big 10 Championship = This game would have been an easy call before Ohio State lost their 2nd Quarterback in the middle of a Heisman campaign. = Wisconsin 37 Ohio State 34

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (8-4) vs. #24 Marshall Thundering Herd (11-1) Conference USA Championship= This should be a really offensive game. = Marshall 66 LT 59

Fresno State Bulldogs (6-6) at #27 Boise State Broncos (10-2) Mountain West Championship= Not much hope for Fresno State this year. =Boise St 41 FSU 20

Northern Illinois Huskies (10-2) vs. Bowling Green Falcons (7-5) MAC Championship= Should be a good game, but not that good. = NIU 45 BG 35

Iowa State Cyclones (2-9) at #3 TCU Horned Frogs (10-1)= TCU 58 Iowa St 24
#10 Kansas State Wildcats (9-2) at #5 Baylor (10-1)= Baylor 45 KSU 41
Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-6) at #18 Oklahoma Sooners (8-3)= OU 34 OSU 20
Houston Cougars (7-4) at Cincinnati Bearcats (8-3) = Cinn 47 Hou 38
SMU Mustangs (0-11) at UConn Huskies (2-9) Down the Toilet Championship= SMU 38 UConn 37
Temple Owls (5-6) at Tulane Green Wave (3-8) = Temple 38 Tulane 22

BIG GAMES THIS WEEK

#10 Georgia Bulldogs (2-0) at #26 South Carolina Gamecocks (1-1) = The big questions in this games are; have the Gamecocks knocked off the cobwebs from the beating they took from the Aggies, and can they get the strong play from the Quarterback position that they need to win or do they need to look elsewhere? Is Todd Gurley really as good overall as he was in one game against Clemson? I’m betting we see a better Gamecock team than we did opening weekend. This should be a back and forth one if Mike Davis is healthy. This could be the best top Running backs in College matchup of the year. MY PREDICTION = Georgia 37 S. Carolina 31

#11 UCLA Bruins (2-0) vs. Texas Longhorns (1-1) (AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas) = There are a lot of questions for both teams going into this game. Texas has been strong on defense when they get some rest, but has shown a lack of depth, and an ability to get tired and be eventually run over. Offensively will they open it up, and move the ball to give their defense time to rest as they season the young Tyrone Swoopes and the quagmire that is their makeshift offensive line. UCLA has spent the whole offseason listening to how good they should be, but has yet to be impressive on either side of the ball. So I wonder what we will get. I expect this game to be close for the first 3 quarters then for some kind of big play or turn over to get the win. MY PREDICTION = UCLA 27 Texas 19

Young Unknown Players who should make a Major Impact this College Football Season 2014

QB

Maty Mauk, QB, Missouri, So, 6-0, 200- holds national high school career records for passing completions (1,353), passing attempts (2,110), passing yards (18,932), total yards (22,681), and passing touchdowns. Finally gets the chance to take over the reins of the Tigers after filling in a few games last season.
DeShaun Watson, QB, Clemson, Fr, 6-3, 190- 5 star recruit who has come to Clemson at just the right time to compete for the starting job. Even if he doesn’t start right away, expect him to have the job by the end of the season.

RB

Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU, Fr, 6-1, 224- Those that have seen him play compare him to a cross between Adrian Peterson and Eric Dickerson. Great size, speed, agility and most importantly vision. Is he the next Great back of the storied SEC?
Barry Sanders jr, RB, Stanford, So, 5-10, 192- I just said Barry Sanders, so enough said right lol. Unlike his dad he will get to see the field full time a year earlier. But like his dad he’s in an offense that is built to run the ball.
Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama, So, 6-3, 244- Broke a 60 year old record national rushing record with 12,232 rushing yards. Averaged 10.9 yds per carry only 35 carries, Is this the year he gets a chance to shine or will Yeldon get all the carries?
Shock Linwood, RB, Baylor, So, 5-8, 200-Ok you may have already hear of this guy, he had almost 900 yards last year as the backup averaging 6.9 yds per carry, and was named Freshman All-american. Expect him if healthy to challenge for 2k plus.

WR

Malachi Dupree, WR, LSU, Fr, 6-3, 188- #1 WR in HS, who has great size and speed in a position of big need for the Tigers, who have produced some quality Wr’s over the years.
Ricky Seals-Jones, WR, Texas A&M, R-Fr, 6-5, 225- The cousin of Eric Dickerson finally gets to hit the field after taking a redshirt season to rehab a knee injury from his Sr year in Highschool. Has the unique mix of TE size with the speed and hands of a wide receiver.
Angelo Jean-Louis, WR, Marshall, Fr, 6-0, 175- Originally committed to Miami(Fl), but failed to qualify academically. An explosive guy on a team with a great QB, who loves to sling the ball.

TE

OJ Howard, TE, Alabama, So, 6-6, 240- Everything you can ask for in a TE, Big, can block, and can catch like a wide receiver. Should have a break out year with Bama
Austin Hooper, TE, Stanford, R-Fr, 6-4, 254- Next in line to become another great TE at Stanford

OL

Cam Robinson, LT, Alabama, Fr, 6-6, 325- Number 1 OL HS recruit, showed up early in the spring and already the starting Left Tackle at Alabama, enough said.
Damian Prince, OT, Maryland, Fr, 6-5, 300- Should be the anchor to a really young but talented offensive line at Maryland.
Derwin Gray, OG, Maryland, Fr, 6-5, 300- Another talent on the young line there, should really blossom this season.
Bentley Spain, OT, UNC, Fr, 6-6, 310- Got in early and impressed in the spring, should be starting Left Tackle
Kent Perkins, OT, Texas, So, 6-5, 330- A beast who has managed to impress Coach Strong with his strength, and agility for his size.
Zach Banner, OT, USC, So, 6-9, 345- A Gynormous man who will instill fear in those in front of him this season.

DL

Andrew Brown, DT, Virginia, Fr, 6-4, 300- Gatorade National player of the year in High school. A penetrating defensive tackle who had 18 sacks in Highschool.
Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M, Fr, 6-5, 250- Rated the #1 player overall by several sites. Had 20.5 sacks as a sr, including one game with 8.5, and he’s going to a really bad defense that needs him.
Malik McDowell, DT, Michigan State, Fr, 6-6. 292- Should be in the rotation, and see plenty of time on the field for one of the top defenses in the country.
Chad Thomas, DE, Miami(FL), Fr, 6-5, 233- Many mention his great size, and agility. All of them mention how smart he is, and plays.

LB

Connor Strachan, MLB, Boston College, Fr, 6-2, 240- Not many big inside linebackers can run as well as Connor, with his 4.4 speed at 240. Now add in that the offense is likely to struggle so he should be on the field a lot. Expect him to join a long list of great linebackers in the history of BC.
Nyles Morgan, ILB, Notre Dame, Fr, 6-2, 233- Fast, Athletic, mean, and from Chicago, things the Fighting Irish love. Should be a starter by the end of the season, and should impress.
Raekwon McMillan, ILB, Ohio State, Fr, 6-2, 240- Fast and talented. Already pushing older studs for playing time

CB

Tony Brown, CB, Alabama, Fr, 6-0, 190- Reminds many of Daryl Revis, Strong, quick, and smart. Should be starting and making a name for himself.
William Likely, CB, Maryland, So, 5-7, 175- This guy is a big time threat returning punts, and kicks. Capable of scoring anytime he gets the ball.
Jalen Tabor, CB, Florida, Fr, 6-1, 188- Should have the starting job, or at least the nickel job by the end of the season. Tall for a corner, athletic, and physical.

S

Su’a Cravens, S, USC, So, 6-1, 215- Freshman All-american who was all over the field last year.
Jabril Peppers, S, Michigan, Fr, 6-1, 211- Stud who will start at Free this season. Top 10 overall in most rating services. Can play Cb, very athletic.

K/P

Daniel Carlson, K, Auburn, R-Fr, 6-4, 216- 2-Time all Colorado with a rocket leg, who could be the deciding factor if Auburn plays for the National title this year.
