BIG GAMES PREDICTIONS

#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (9-0) at #22 Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-2) - The Bulldogs are a strange team playing up one week, and letting up the next week. Last week they had to struggle to just get by a bad UMass team. Most likely they had the Crimson Tide on their minds. Bama has gotten passed their rival LSU and should be nice and angry about the snub by the playoff committee. The Tide usually put up big numbers in a game like this. – Alabama 44 MSU 20

#2 Georgia Bulldogs (9-0) at #12 Auburn Tigers (7-2) – This will be a real test for Georgia's young QB. Auburn has a great defensive line, probably the best his line has faced all year. Now add the fact that they are in Auburn, and i'm calling for an upset – Auburn 31 Georgia 27

#6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-1) #3 Miami (FL) Hurricanes (8-0)  - This is the renewal of the old, “Catholics vs. Convicts” rivalry that had national title implications the last time and now does as well. Because the loser will probably be all but out of the race. But the way this year is going who knows, both could be back in the mix at the end of the season. The ‘Canes are looking very opportunistic on defense and starting to show some signs of life on offense that could lead to a playoff. Notre Dame has a dynamic rushing attack that has blown away many good teams. Look for this to be the best game of a big week in games. – Miami 28 ND 27

#24 Iowa Hawkeyes (6-3) at #4 Wisconsin Badgers (9-0) – The good news for Iowa and their fans is that they pulled off a great upset win last week blowing out the Golden Child Ohio State 55-24. The bad news for Iowa and their fans is that they play really, really good at home, and this game is on the road. Wisconsin doesn’t seem to care who, or what is in their way. They are going to play their type of football no matter what. Freshman sensation Jonathan Taylor is now at 1,185 yards rushing, with a nice 7.4 ypc. He isn’t like the normal ordinary Badger running back. He reminds me more of a young Saquan Barkley, and the usual plug and replace Wisconsin back of old. – Wisconsin 37 Iowa 24

#9 Texas Christian Horned Frogs (8-1) at #7 Oklahoma Sooners (8-1) – This will probably be the battle for the number one seed in the Big 12 Title game. The game should also probably have both of these teams facing off against each other again. TCU sprouts the best defense in the Big 12 (13.7 pts per game in conference allowed and 13.9 pts per game allowed overall). The Sooners on the other hand can score on just about anyone this season averaging 45 points per game led by Heisman hopeful Baker Mayfield. It also seems that the Sooners are starting to get healthy on offense at the right time.  – OU 30 TCU 24

#8 Washington Huskies (8-1) at #26 Stanford Cardinals (6-3) – If Bryce Love’s ankle is healthy this could be a good game. If not this could get ugly. The Huskies are currently outside looking in on the playoffs and looking to make a statement.  – Stanford 38 Wash 34

#11 Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-2) at #25 Iowa State Cyclones (6-3) – This is another great offense verses a great defensive game. Iowa State has held some of the best attacks down, and plays way over their heads at home since losing to Texas. The Cowboys are hoping to get back into the Conference Title game hunt and the only way is through Ames, Iowa, and a crazy crowd. – Oklahoma State 38 Iowa State 34

#13 Michigan State Spartans (7-2) at #15 Ohio State Buckeyes (7-2) – What a difference a week makes. Last week Ohio State was the darling of the nation with their great comeback upset win of then #2 Penn State. QB JT Barrett was in the Heisman hunt again. The Spartans where very down after an overtime loss to Northwestern, and had to wonder if they had a chance to get to their Conference Championship game. Now the Buckeyes will need an act of God to get back in the Title Hunt and Barrett will need even more divine help to win the Heisman after getting killed at Iowa. Michigan State on the other hand is now tied with the Buckeyes for the lead in the Big 10 Eastern Division. The Winner should win the division and get back into the hunt if they can win an extremely competitive Big 10. This is a really hard one to call but expect the Buckeyes to bounce back. – OSU 55 MSU 24
