BIG GAMES THIS WEEK

#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (11-0) at #6 Auburn Tigers (9-2) – Once again these two teams meet with the SEC West on the line, with what comes with it. The right to play in the SEC Title game and then the right to be in the playoff. Alabama has been methodical all season. While Auburn seems to be peaking at the right time. Miss this game at your own peril. Auburn 25 Alabama 24

#4 Clemson Tigers (10-1) at #28 South Carolina Gamecocks (8-3) – This rivalry is finally getting back to being a good one again. Clemson has played one of the toughest schedules in the nation, while South Carolina has been playing above itself. Most thought they were a year or two away from being decent to good again. Clemson 31 South Carolina 20

#26 West Virginia Mountaineers (7-4) at #5 Oklahoma Sooners (10-1) – This could be a really good game if, and only if the Mountaineers starting QB Will Grier can someone make it back to play. If not, look for West Virginia to play hard, but eventually they will get run out of Norman, Oklahoma. Baker Mayfield is playing like the best player in the NCAA. Though word is he won’t start this game as punishment for losing his cool against some cheap shots by Kansas. Oklahoma 51 WV 25

#10 Central Florida Golden Knights (10-0) at #23 South Florida Bulls (9-1) - This one is the biggest game in the AAC this season. UCF could struggle with their Head Coach Scott Frost rumored to be leaving to head back to his alma-matter Nebraska. UCF is playing for a wild card shot at a non BCS team making the playoffs. UCF 44 USF 38

#9 Ohio State Buckeyes (9-2) at #25 Michigan Wolverines (8-3) – Michigan as started playing better since trading starting QB’s. But I don’t know if they have enough to keep up with the Buckeyes, and their dreams of making the playoffs. Ohio State 38 Michigan 24

#13 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (9-2) at #19 Stanford Cardinals (8-3) – The next in team on the list of a rough schedule for the Irish is their rival Stanford and their Heisman candidate Love. Notre Dame’s offense has been struggling lately. Stanford 31 ND 28

#17 Washington State Cougars (8-2) at #14 Washington Huskies (9-2) – The Apple Cup is up for grabs. The Huskies have been surviving lately on great special teams play, and making big plays when it matters. The Cougars have a much better team than their record, but have played out, and out badly against some bad teams. Wash 38 Wash St 35

Texas A&M Aggies (7-4) at #16 LSU Tigers (8-3) – The Aggies are playing hard now to help keep their Coach in his job. LSU has been playing hard ever since they got their star Tailback back. A home game matters a lot though. LSU 45 TA&M 28

Ole Miss Rebels (5-6) at #20 Mississippi State Bulldogs (8-3) – This is a rivalry, and the hardest team to play is one who is only one game away from being bowl eligible. The Bulldogs are the better team, and it’s really a surprise that Ole Miss has even won 5 games sometimes. MSU 36 Miss 34

#21 Virginia Tech Hokies (8-3) at Virginia Cavaliers (6-5) – On paper Tech should beat Virginia easily. But paper means nothing in a rivalry game. The Cav’s are coming off a strong showing at #2 Miami and led them most of the game. VT 21 Virginia 7

#27 Iowa State Cyclones (7-4) at Kansas State Wildcats (6-5) - On the outside this looks like a meaningless game. But these two have played each other for a long time, and don’t really like one another. This should be a really good one. Iowa State 27 KSU 23

#29 Boise State Broncos (9-2) at Fresno State Bulldogs (8-3) – With the way Rypien is playing lately it seems like the Broncos can overcome any obstacle. FSU has been a surprise team. Both teams have not only upset San Diego State (9-2), but both did so by stomping them. Boise St 41 FSU 38

Florida State Seminoles (4-6) at Florida Gators (4-6) – Who could have seen this coming preseason? FSU was preseason #2, and the Gators where coming off two straight SEC East titles. Now both are 4-6, and the winner has a shot if they can win the following week of becoming bowl eligible. Florida seems to be in the most turmoil with their coach getting fire midseason.  FSU 28 Florida 14

Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-6) at Texas Longhorns (6-5) – The Longhorns finally put together a good game for the first time in a long time. They finally where able to run the ball now that they have their All-American left tackle back after losing him week 1. Tech on the other hand looked outstanding at the beginning of the season, but just can’t finish a game once conference started. Look for this black Friday game to be a good one. Texas 27 TT 24

Navy Midshipmen (6-4) at Houston Cougars (6-4) – Navy is coming off a tough loss where they had Notre Dame on the ropes but lost a squeaker 17-24. Houston has been up and down all season with injuries. Navy 45 Houston 44
