BIG GAME PREDICTIONS
Thursday
#15 Louisville Cardinals (4-1) at North Carolina State Wolfpack (4-1) - This should be a really good matchup. The Wolfpack knocked FSU off it's pedestal, then survived a strong comeback against Syracuse and it's no huddle pass happy offense and Firey Coach. Louisville is in turmoil with the possibility of it's Coach looking for safer waters after the firing of its AD and basketball Coach after the FBI investigation. Can the Cardinals put all the Questions aside, and let last years Heisman lose? I don't know but i do think this could be a real upset. - Louisville 47 NC State 41
Saturday
#1 Alabama Crimson Tide (5-0) at #30 Texas A&M Aggies (4-1) - Kyle Field is a very tough place to play for anyone. They have played the Tide tough there as well. But the last time they beat them was when Johnny Manziel was their QB and have lost 4 straight to the Tide. The Aggies are in turmoil due to high expectations by fans not being met by the team on the field. Texas A&M plays with what feels like a lack of confidence, as they wait for something bad to happen. Then again they did blow a 44-10 lead with 4 minutes left in the 3rd Quarter against UCLA. The Tide have been rolling all over anyone in their way ever since last years National Title game loss. - Alabama 39 A&M 30
Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-1) at #2 Clemson Tigers (5-0) - Wake Forest proved that they didn't know how to win last week when they should have beaten FSU, but played it safe late and lost. The real question is will there be a let down for Clemson who has seemed just as good as last years National Champion after so many games against Top 15 teams. No one has ever defeated 3 Top 15 teams in September ever before. - Clemson 34 WKF 20
#5 Michigan Wolverines (4-0) at #27 Michigan State Spartans (3-1) - The Battle for Michigan. Both teams have been playing old school Big 10 football. Nothing too flashy, just get the win. Expect this one to be a lot closer than most expect. With a lot of hitting, and a big play or two being the decider of the match. - Michigan 21 MSU 20
#21 West Virginia Mountaineers (3-1) at #8 TCU Horned Frogs (4-0) - This should be an explosive Big 12 matchup. The Gameday crew will be heading to Ft. Worth to showcase this game. TCU is undefeated when they show up. - TCU 54 WV 51 OT
#9 Washington State Cougars (5-0) at #29 Oregon Ducks (4-1) - No one enjoys playing Oregon in Eugene. State is coming of the biggest win in the schools history since Ryan Leaf was their QB. But will they have a hangover. This would be a much tougher matchup if the Ducks were a little more healthy. - WSU 38 Oregon 30
Maryland Terrapins (3-1) at #11 Ohio State Buckeyes (4-1) - On paper the Buckeyes should run away with this one easily. But the Terrapins are a tougher bunch than paper shows, and have a running back (Ty Johnson 8.9 ypc) who is a threat to score whenever he touches the ball. Maryland's big problem is who will play at QB. Can they make it through the season without having to pull someone from the stands to play QB as they have had that many injuries. - Ohio State 40 Maryland 17
#12 Miami (Fl) Hurricanes (3-0) at Florida State Seminoles (1-2) - This is a makeup game from a Hurricane postponement. The Seminoles are just plain bad at offensive line. Which i consider to be the most important part of the offense. Right now they could put anyone at QB, and RB and be just as bad as they are now. Miami on the other hand is playing well. Most people at the beginning of the season would have had FSU beating Miami in a close one. Now though - Miami 24 FSU 16
LSU Tigers (3-2) at #19 Florida Gators (3-1) - LSU Coach Ed Orgeron is now playing for his job, after being upset at home by Troy and being knocked out of the rankings. Offensively they are still missing their stud running back Derrius Guice who like Leonard Fornett last season has been out. If Guice can play this is a whole other matchup with LSU winning in my opinion. Florida lost it's staring QB Del Rio for the season, and maybe for his career. 1) With a Healthy Guice playing - LSU 34 Florida 20 * 2) Without Guice - Florida 13 LSU 9
Stanford Cardinals (3-2) at #20 Utah Utes (4-0) - The Cardinals are starting to come to form with Bryce Love leading the nation in rushing averaging 217.6 yds per game. Utah is known for his hard nose defense, and is tough to play in that altitude. So this should be a good smash mouth game. This could be the season for Stanford - Stanford 34 Utah 28
Air Force Falcons (1-3) at #25 Navy Midshipmen (4-0) - This is an old rivalry, and the first in the battle for the Commander and Chief Trophy. Both teams will try and run, and run, and run. AF kept it close at #5 Michigan, and at #14 SD State. The edge goes to Navy playing at home and with the better all around attack. - Navy 38 AF 34
Duke Blue Devils (4-1) at Virginia Cavaliers (3-1) - This should actually be a really good game. With the Blue Devils looking to bounce back after the beating the Hurricanes gave them last week. Virginia is maybe a season or two away from a complete turnaround and playing at home. So look for a good one. - VA 38 Duke 31
SMU Mustangs (4-1) at Houston Cougars (3-1) - Old SWC rivals meet yet again. With the Mustangs trying to finally climb back up into respectability under Chad Morris. QB Ben Hicks has been lighting it up with his arms and mobility. Houston is under new Head Coach Major Applewhite who's had to keep the team together after Hurricane Harvey and the loss of previous Head Coach Tom Herman to Texas. The key will be if Houston can get it's offense going as they have struggled so far this season. - SMU 34 Houston 31
