BIG GAME PREDICTIONS
#2 Penn State Nittany Lions (7-0) at #9 Ohio State
Buckeyes (6-1) – Penn State and Saquon Barkley for the 2nd week
in a row play in the game of the week in the Big 10 and maybe the nation. The
real question is will Penn State have a letdown after such a strong showing
against their rival Michigan. The Nittany Lions are on a roll offensively and
defensively. The Buckeyes have been trying hard to get noticed ever since the
beating Oklahoma gave them at home to start the season. They have been running
up the score on tiny opponents. Now they face a real team for the first time
since. Have they been waiting all year for this one? – Penn State 38 Ohio State 36
#4 TCU Horned Frogs (7-0) at #26 Iowa State Cyclones
(5-2) – TCU looks like the class of the Big 12 led by A&M transfer
Kenny Hill whose unselfish play has propelled them there. The Cyclones are the
surprise team of the Big 12. Many didn’t see them winning 5 games all year, let
alone being 5-2 right now. They are battle tested having beaten Oklahoma at
Norman. They are also starting to hit their stride and could make some noise.
So this should be a really good one, no one saw coming. – TCU 38 Iowa State 34
#29 Georgia Tech Yellowjackets (4-2) at #7 Clemson
Tigers (6-1) – Georgia Tech gets to be the first team Clemson has faced
since being upset by Syracuse on the road. Tech is a few balls bouncing their
way from being undefeated. While it is always rough facing an option team,
Clemson should be ready, and angry. – Clemson
41 GT 31
#19 North Carolina State Wolfpack (6-1) at #8 Notre
Dame Fighting Irish (6-1) – Both teams are looking for a chance to break
into the final four at the end of the season. The Irish are coming off a very
impressive beating of then #11 USC. Their QB reminds many of Tony Rice who led
them to their last National Title. Notre Dame finds itself with many good team
still left on their schedule. If they win out, they should easily make it. The
Wolfpack are a surprise team looking for some respect. The question is will
they be able to slow down the Irish. – Notre
Dame 34 NC State 23
#10 Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-1) at #23 West Virginia Mountaineers
(5-2) – Another tough road test for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys had the
best offense in the nation until last week being shut down by Texas. Can they
bounce back to their former selves with injuries on the offensive line, or will
they continue to struggle. The Mountaineers have quietly been putting together another
strong season. Both teams, and both coaches know each other well. – OSU 44 W. Vir. 39
Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-3) at #11 Oklahoma Sooners
(6-1) – The Red Raiders had been playing very well on both sides of the
ball up until the past two weeks. Will they be in panic mode? Or will they rise
to the occasion as so many teams have against Oklahoma this year. The Sooners
must feel like that kid who talked too much smack and is now getting the very
best of everyone they face, every week. This can break a team, or it can make
them stronger. – OU 45 TT 31
UCLA Bruins (4-3) at #13 Washington Huskies (6-1) –
“Chosen” Rosen and the Bruins have just started to rise back out of the ashes
that is their season and now must go on the road against a Huskies team that
saw itself as a final four team until being upset two weeks ago. After a week
off, how angry will they play? Should be a good one. I see UW winning, but don’t
be surprised if Rosen pulls off another upset for his team. – Washington 45 UCLA 42
Arizona Wildcats (5-2) at #16 Washington State Cougars
(6-1) – Arizona has found what it needed in Quarterback Khalil Tate. When
he gets a majority of the snaps they are 3-0. Is their Coach smart enough to
realize this? The Cougars are still a little shell shocked from their Cal game,
but bounced back strong last week shutting out Colorado 28-0 in a storm. – Wash
State 38 Arizona 35
#21 USC Trojans (5-2) at Arizona State Sun Devils
(4-3) – No one saw what happened to USC last week coming. If they did they
should have gone to Vegas and made some $. The Trojans just got whipped by
Notre Dame last week. USC has turned the ball over way too much in what is
starting to look like the sophomore jinx season of much hyped Sam Darnold. ASU
has been playing above themselves lately, which includes an upset of then #4
Washington. Can they pull off another upset, especially with their Coach
feeling the heat? – USC 27 ASU 17
#30 Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-2) at Texas A&M
Aggies (5-2) – The Aggies and their Coach have finally bounced back into
the team their fans thought they should be. One the other hand the Bulldogs
have been outstanding one week, only to flop the next week. The edge should go
to A&M at home. – Texas A&M 31
